I was in the last group that was recruited in wartime.
I worked at the Seaforth Highlanders. While in the CWAC I found the service life quite different from teaching. I enjoyed every minute of it and especially the friendship of the girls. My work at Headquarters of the Seaforth Highlanders was most interesting. Our Camp Commandant was Kelowna's former mayor, Major R.F. (Dick) Parkinson. Working with Major Parkinson was always very pleasant. It was a well-run office, but at the same time very friendly.
