I was posted at 108 Manning Depot
After one year of typing for the Personnel Service Officer, using broken down typewriters, badly used carbon paper, and very well used ribbon for our Manuals, we girls revolted and went to the Commanding Officer and requested that we be taught how to blow the bugle and beat the drum. In other words, we wanted an "All Women Band"
In no time we had our instructors, and many an hour I practiced by beating my pillows with my drumsticks. It did the trick and I became the lead drummer. We went on our first parade with the male regiment marching to OUR tune!!!
Later we were issued special uniforms, and oh we were a smart looking group.
